Dear Stratton Families:

Every year, each public school and school district in Massachusetts receives a report card. Just as your child’s report card shows how they are doing in different subjects, the school’s report card is designed to show families how our school is doing in different areas. A link to our school’s report card is available at https://reportcards.doe.mass.edu/2023/00100055.

The report card includes multiple measures of a school’s performance – more than just MCAS scores. It represents a new way of looking at school performance, by providing information on student achievement, teacher qualifications, student learning opportunities, and more.

Report cards are designed to be useful tools for everyone connected to our school. Families can use the information to have meaningful conversations with us about what the school is doing well and where there is room for improvement. Community and education leaders can use the information to better understand how to support students and our school.

Stratton School is proud to highlight our accountability percentile, which places us among the top-performing schools in the state. This percentile reflects our strong performance on state assessments in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, underscoring the effectiveness of our instructional methods and the hard work of our students and staff. Our commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement ensures that we provide a high-quality education to each of our students. To improve student performance at Stratton School, we are committed to ensuring that our most vulnerable learners consistently work with the most qualified professionals in an inclusive setting.  We are enhancing professional development opportunities for our staff to better support diverse learning needs and implementing targeted interventions to address specific areas where students require additional assistance. These efforts aim to provide each student with the resources and support they need to succeed academically.

If you have questions about our school’s report card, would like to become involved in school improvement activities, or would like to request information about the qualifications of your child’s teachers, please contact Amy Kelly at [email protected]. To see our district’s report card or to search for other schools’ report cards, visit report cards.doe.mass.edu

Dear Arlington Community,

This memo is to notify the Arlington community that Kindergarten registration will be opening today. This letter serves to provide you with information about our registration process. More information about buffer zones is provided later in this letter. All registrations completed (submitted and approved by the Registration Team) between Thursday, February 8th, and Wednesday, February 28th at midnight will receive buffer zone decisions by March 15th.

Information about how to register for After-School Programming at each school can be found here. District-sponsored after-school programs will accept applications to enter lotteries until March 24th, with confirmations to go to families by April 1st. Programs external to Arlington Public Schools may have different application deadlines; please check their websites for more information.
